The IHRC are concerned that our race horse population is now in rapid decline for varying reasons, this coupled with a fall off in breeding and purchasing has the ability to threaten the viability of our racing industry in certain regions. There are a sizeable number of horses that have become seriously uncompetitive in their existing grades and are quickly disappearing from racing, we would like to hear from owners and trainers who believe their horses fit this category and would like to keep these horses in racing for 2014 and beyond. Once a list has been compiled the IHRC will examine measures to deal with this problem on a regional basis in consultation with the affiliated Clubs.
