Following a race course committee meeting this afternoon, it was decided to cancel the Annaghmore fixture for this coming Wednesday due to insufficient entries and to reschedule the fixture at a later date.
An application was made to hold another heat of the 3YO trot in Portmarnock this weekend. This was discussed at length. Horse owners and trainers signed into this series, knowing that there was 6 heats in Portmarnock, 2 in Cork, and 2 in Annaghmore. Taking this into consideration, there will only be one fixture hosting a three-year-old trot this weekend and this will be in Cork. The committee felt it would be unwise to put up another heat in a different location, which would take from the cork fixture also.
Finally, due to the new COVID restrictions on public gatherings, a limited number of races will be held in Portmarnock on Sunday. No general public will be permitted, and whilst children are permitted, they must be within each trainers allocation of grooms etc. Should any horses have to be balloted out, horses who originally entered to race in Annaghmore will be given first preference
