Racing on the Coast

The ITHRF have secured their season finale at Inchydoney beach on Sunday next 22nd September. The last meeting held on this half mile circuit was back in July 1995 where in the feature race Limed Hazard & Saunders Spirit battled it out, down to the line, finishing in a dead heat. Other notable winners included Beauty’s Forte, Black Velvet, Fleet I am, Tyson & Highland Prince.

Eighteen years on, and the preparations are well under way for what promises to be a spectacular days racing. Connolly’s Red Mills have come on board as main sponsors as have the 4-star Inchydoney Lodge & Spa, which overlooks the racecourse and is an ideal location to watch the All Ireland final in Croke Park after racing.

The All Ireland FFA pace is the feature event (for the top graded horses entered). The organising committee hope to run an open trot subject to entries. All races will be ran over 1 mile.

Races start at 1pm sharp (time and tide waits for no man) and a great day is ensured.

Entries close this Sunday @ 9pm.
