IHRA Integrity update

The IHRA Veterinary and Welfare Commission (VWC) are pleased to update all stakeholders concerning the 2018 racing reason. Over the Winter, our Integrity Board (VWC) have been working closely with the Department of Agriculture, the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (formerly called The Turf Club) and the LCH laboratory in Paris. We are pleased to announce that beginning on this weekend, the IHRA will be sampling horses for TCO2 and Cobalt with a confirmatory test now being secured at the LCH in Paris. Should any positive sample be returned to the IHRA, the correct procedures outlined in our rulebook will be followed. Our Veterinary panel will also be carrying out passport checks and clinical health checks on all horses entering the stableyard and racetrack this Sunday morning.
