The IHRA Board continues to be in discussion with many Politicians regarding the release date for the Indecon Report.
This week meetings have taken place in the Dial with both TD’s and Senator’s across all Parties and Independents.
There is cross-party support and encouragement for what has been achieved by the IHRA up to this point in time. These achievements have included breeding, promotion of Irish Harness Racing internationally, the Integration Education programme and the solid foundation prepared for the sport to grow and flourish during the coming years.
Following the meetings this week it is now anticipated that an announcement is to be made shortly regarding the publication date of the Indecon Report and its recommendations.
Once this occurs, the Report will be available online for all Members to read. The Board will also then be in a position to structure a plan for the industry to continue to move forward.
This position and understanding was also confirmed and conferred yesterday morning when IHRA met with members of the Department of Agriculture.
Meetings are planned for next week and are expected to intensify up until the release of the report.
